In an effort to provide state-of-the-art undersea equipment and data for ocean science,the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Undersea Research Program Center at the University of North Carolina,Wilmington,has purchased a Slocum-class underwater glider from Webb Research Inc.(East Falmouth,Massachusetts).The new vehicle will work to enhance the center's existing remotely operated vehicle programs and technical diving capabilities.
