摘要

XRD analysis was performed on Al samples cyclic pressed through ECAP using route A. Some conclusions drawn from the monitoring of dislocation density, r.m.s microstrain and effective domain size are as follows.1. Repetitive ECA pressings distort the symmetric profile of XRD peaks and to broaden the peak width, which is more obvious in the till) than the (200) plane.2. The dislocation density increases substantially up to only 4 passes and then reaches a constant value even after 16 passes. The r.m.s microstrain showed the same behavior as the dislocation density except a small decrease was found at 4 and 8 passes.3. The effective domain size significantly decreased at earlier stage of pressings (4 passes) and then showed little change as the number of pressings increased.4. It is believed that in the route A, 4 passes are critical number of repetitive pressings to make fine subgrain size and further pressings may result in stable equiaxed subgrain by increasing the misfit angle.
