Biofuel research is shifting from soil-based plants such as corn and soybeans to sea-based marine algae,said scientists at Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the University of California,San Diego's Division of Biological Sciences,part of an emerging algal biofuel consortium that includes academic collaborators,regional industry representatives and public and private partners.
