摘要

Unit cost of establishment and maintenance of cashew plantations has been worked out for different plant densities. It was observed that unit cost of establishment and maintenance for the first 10 years was high in high density planting system (87 to120 per cent more than normal plant density). It was also observed that net income expected from high density planting is 130 to 150 per cent more than normal plant density (7.5 m X 7.5 m, 175 plants/ha). This paper deals with deals of labour cost, material cost, expected yield, gross income, net income and economic analysis to see the feasibility of the project to take up cashew cultivation under different plant density situations for 10 years in 1 hectare area. The information presented in this paperwill be useful for financing institutions such as NABARD and banks for advancing loans to needy cashew growers.
