The Directorate of Cashew nut and Gocoa Development was vested with the responsibility of implementation of the direct funded components of cashew and cocoa with the commencement of National Horticulture Mission. The programmes comprised of replantingof senile plantation of corporations, technology dissemination, training, pest and disease management, information upgradation and publicity aspects for the promotion of cashew and cocoa. The Directorate is also responsible for the monitation of the programmes chalked out and implemented by the State Governments for the development of cashew and cocoa under National Horticulture Mission. During the year 2005-06 an outlay Rs. 277.33 lakhs have been sanctioned for implementation of the above programmes.The following strategy is drawn for its execution during the year.
