摘要

The possibility of producing vermicompost from the organic wastes, both from cashew orchard and processing unit was explored. It was seen that the apple residue and leaf litter could be effectively utilised for the production of vermicompost in 95 days. The nutrient composition of the compost was analyzed as 1.69% N. 0.44%P. 0.58% K. The pH of the prepared compost was recorded as 8.9 and could be a good amiliorant for acidic soils of Kerala.
