Shri P. Bharathan Filial, Chairman addressing the 50th Annual General Meeting of the Council held on 22nd September 2005 at Cochin has underlined the urgent need for increasing the indigenous production of raw cashewnuts to make the country self sufficient in the produce. Though the installed capacity of the cashew processing industry is around 12 lakh tones per annum, only less than half of it was produced within the country. This pointed to the need for stepping up domestic production said Shri. Bharathan Pillai.
