In a cooperative program between the Turkish Naval Acoustic Research Group and the Earth and Marine Sciences Research Institute of the TUBITAK Marmara Research Center,a new system has been developed for measuring underwater acoustic fields both in horizontal and vertical plains.The system consists of An array of eight directional hydrophones taken from SSQ-53D directional frequency analysis and recording(DIFAR)sonobuoys.The system has a digital radio link to transmit the acoustic signals to a ship or land station from as far away as 10 kilometers.
