The USS Independence (LCS 2) has had the first successful launch and recovery of the remote multimission vehicle (RMMV) from a littoral combat ship (LCS), Navy officials announced in June. The testing spanned two days and was conducted in Panama City, Florida, by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City. The deployment and recovery demonstration of the unmanned, remotely-operated RMMV was conducted from Independence while underway.
