Scientists recently found that corals have developed a clever method of reproduction that meets the species'need to perpetuate itself.A few days after the August full moon each year,the hard corals of the Florida Keys-elkhorn,staghound and star corals,to name a few-fire their gametes(male and female sex cells)into the surrounding water,hoping they will connect to start a new generation of corals.
