Last month,iXSea SAS (Marly le Roi,France) announced the signing of a deal with the Sidney,Canada-based Canadian Scientific Submersible Facility (CSSF) for a Global Acoustic Positioning System (GAPS) and a number of transponders and spare parts.According to iXSea,GAPS is a calibration-free acoustic positioning system which combines inertial and acoustic technologies.
