Stavanger, Norway-based Well Processing AS announced in August that it has launched the SWIT (subsea water injection treatment) unit, which moves water injection facilities from topside to seabed. The company said that the unit increases oil recovery and cuts costs by up to 50 percent. SWIT provides an alternative to traditional seawater treatment by doing everything on the seafloor, eliminating the need for topside treatment plants, the company said.
