Bard Engineering GmbH (Bremen, Germany) has developed a new foundation for wind turbines in which the mast is placed on a supporting cross-piece that rests above the water surface on three main pilings, known as the BARD Tripile.The company is using Enerpac's (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) synchronous lifting system to level this crosspiece accurately on its BARD Offshore 1 wind turbine farm, currently under construction in the North Sea about 60 miles northwest of the German island of Borkum, Enerpac representatives said.
