As Federal regulators scrambled last monthto contain a pet food contamination outbreak,officials in some Southern states had a differentconcern: Noticing that catfish imports from Chinahad skyrocketed, they began testing the importedfish. What they found surprised them - twobanned antibiotics The discovery pointed to a deep flaw in thenation's food safety system, as the Chinese catfishhad already entered the U.S. legally and were ontheir way to grocery stores and restaurants.
