摘要

What is trade credit insurance? All overseas trade is hazardous and subject to risk. Such hazard is normally categorized into commercial and non-commercial (or political) risk. Instances of commercial risk would include a private buyer refusing to accept, or failing to pay for, the delivered shipment, or the buyer's bank defaulting on the payment security document. Noncommercial risk concerns events beyond the normal control of the buyer or the seller, such as the risk of war, civil disturbance, suspension of currency transfers or lack of foreign ctirrency. If the buyer is a public or government entity the political risk can be extended to include non-payment and refusal to pay.
