摘要

High temperature protonic conductingpolymer membranes provide new technologicalapplications in electrochemical devices includingelectrochromic displays, chemical sensors, fuelcells and others. Organic/inorganic nanocompositemembranes consisting of SiO2/PEO (polyethyleneoxides) hybrids are a remarkable family ofisotropic, flexible, amorphous polymer materials,which have been synthesized through sol-gelprocesses. The hybrid membrane doped with acidicmoieties such as monododecylphosphate orphosphotungstic acid shows good protonicconductivities at high temperatures above 100℃.The protonic conducting membrane was found to bethermally stable at high temperatures because ofthe inorganic SiO2 framework in the nanocomposite matrix.
