The Presidency of ISO confers a great privilege and, at the same time, a great responsibility.Both the privilege and responsibility consist in representing, worldwide, the hundreds of thousands of people who dedicate their time to preparing documents - in their national and regional standards bodies and also within ISO - that will improve market fluidity by facilitating dialogue among the suppliers or between the suppliers and the consumers.Standardization has been playing this essential role for almost a century, with humility and perseverance. This role has now gained an importance without precedent because we are living in the era of the global market.
