Commercial Technologies for Maintenance Activities (CTMA) has received three national awards of excellence from the Department of Defense (DOD) and the National Center for Advanced Technologies. The awards were presented for CTMA-led research and development projects that produced new time-and cost-saving training, manufacturing, and maintenance techniques. CTMA is a collaborative partnership among the Ann Arbor-based National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS), its member companies, and the DOD. CTMA's Maintenance Mentoring System I (MMS) was honored as the Best New Idea in the Great Ideas Competition hosted at the 2002 DOD Maintenance Symposium.
