WHILE VARIOUS SOURCES agree that the Seg-ment of Perseus is an eye-catching asterism, they oftendiffer on which stars it includes. Following its trail backin time, the earliest sources I uncovered create the patternfrom just three stars — Gamma (y), Alpha (a), and Delta(8) Persei — forming a segment of a very large circleconcave toward Ursa Major.
