RHI offers customized high-end solutions in purging refractory to fulfill specific customer requirement. Idea is to enhance EAF process efficiency with concurrent high process safety. Gas purging systems of RHI facilitate N2 and Ar injection into melts. Based on decades of practical experience, we fine-tune refractory & system components to suit the specific process technology requirements of our customers. Overall, approx 9% of EAFs are equipped with bottom gas purging system and with a common trend towards more cost efficient EAF operations in the steel industry, the tendency towards bottom stirring is increasing. Globally, RHI delivers gas purging systems to more than 80 customers for EAFs with tap weights between 6-250t, for the production of unalloyed, low alloyed specialty steels to high alloyed and stainless steel grades for both long & flat products in steel plants and foundries.
