The capacity for wireless interrogation is now universally available in contemporary im-plantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) and has even been incorporated into some pacemakers. Freedom from the restraints of a programming wand has resulted in extended periods of elec-trogram (EGM) monitoring via the programmer both at the time of device implantation and at outpatient device follow-up. We describe two nonphysiologic EGM phenomena increasingly being observed during these extended observation periods and review the implications for management.
