SUCCESSFULLY painting traditionally diffi-cult-to-coat substrates used in a wide range of commercial and industrial applications is now much easier due to a Bayer MaterialScience LLC advance in waterborne primer coating raw material technology. In addition, primers built on this new Bayer technology offer high-performance properties and low volatile organic compound (VOC) content. Bayer MaterialScience LLC developed the waterbome primer technology in response to market demand for coatings that not only comply with more stringent VOC regulations, but also provide the same high-performance properties as solvent-borne coatings as well as the versatility to coat different substrates.
