Production of biodiesel from restaurant trap grease has begun at the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant in San Francisco, CA. According to Idil Bereket, public relations officer for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), this is the first time a municipal wastewater plant in the United States has produced ASTM ultra-low sulfur compliant biodiesel from restaurant trap grease.
