While Alaska fishermen set about catching a much-reduced allocation of halibut this spring, marketers are reporting that the economic recession has slightly diminished, rather than decimated, the public's demand. "In December, we were very concerned," said Peggy Parker, executive director of the Halibut Association of America, a processor-distributor organization.
