Some time ago, in response to a questionnaire, several members suggested that occasional short 'biographies' of various galls would make a welcome addition to the pages of Cecidology. Until now, I have been unable to find space for such an account, but in this issue I am setting the ball rolling with a short description of the developmental stages of Hartigiola annulipes galls on beech leaves and I hope members will find this of interest. Hopefully, it will encourage others to tackle some of our other galls in this way. I will be very happy to receive any contributions of this kind, especially if they are accompanied by photographs or drawings.
