The results are in as recyclers across the country have voiced their attitudes toward fair compensation for retrieval and return services involved with safeguarding stray proprietary pallets. According to a recent survey conducted by the staff of Pallet Enterprise, almost 63% reported that the current CHEP Asset Recovery Program (ARP) does not cover the costs associated with acquiring, sorting, safeguarding, storing and returning stray proprietary pallets. Increasingly, recyclers are reporting having to pay to acquire all cores and not just white wood pallets. This trend started more than five years ago and has since then picked up momentum as DCs discover their ability to set more stringent terms.
