Effect of Irradiation on the disk of the epsilon Aurigae system

摘要

The epsilon Aurigae system consists of a luminous F star and a dusty disk surrounding an unseen object. The obscuring body for the eclipse, which occurs every 27 years, is the dusty disk. Light-variation and spectroscopic features are affected by the physical properties of the disk. To study the properties of the disk, a simplified model including the irradiation of the F star and the rotation of the disk is presented. Themaximum temperature depends on the transmissivity of the edge toward the F star, and the heat capacity of irradiated portion determines the temperature of the dark side of disk. The large heat capacity of the edge produces remarkable asymmetry on the temperature of the edge, and also on the thickness of the irradiated edge. The observed asymmetry of the light curve and the absorption lines is comparable to the properties of the rotating-disk model.
