The European Union EU ban on hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products-the Restrictions on Hazardous Substances(RoHS)Directive-took effect on 1 July.This means that a wide range of electrical and electronic products put onto the EU market may no longer contain certain hazardous substances that can endanger human health and the environment.
