Boeing Commercial Airplanes Co. has shortlisted several candidates to manufacture major subassemblies of the 7F7 Dream liner. They include Vought Aircraft Industries. Italy's Alenia Aeronautica, and Japan's Fuji Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. All five companies are major Boeing contractors. The three Japanese companies make 20 percent of the 777 airframe, including fuselage panels and doors and the wing center section (including the wing-body fairing and wing ribbing). Vought makes 747 fuselage panels in Hawthorne, CA and the 767 center wing section (and a variety of doors) in Stuart. FL.
