Sometimes it takes a benevolent stranger to tell you something you have heard all your life, but never really heard before. At the recent East of England alcohol harm reduction conference, the manager of a community agency called NORCAS mused during the discussion that she had never seen a client come to her agency with just a problem of alcohol dependence (Newmarket, 23 April 2009).
