Successful superovulation and embryo collection of caprine embryos were demonstrated using a simplified surgical procedure without exteriorizing the uterus and uterine horns. The proposed on-farm technique involves the manipulation of the reproductivetract through an incision made at the right para-lumbar fossa. Four embryos at the morula stage (6 % days old) were collected. The simple surgical method has the advantages in terms of simplicity in use under farm conditions, cost-effectiveness, and less complications due to surgery. The study highlights a practicable technique that is a step closer to the development of a completely non-surgical procedure for embryo recovery in goats.
