Faced with growing surplus availability, Europe's natural gas suppliers have been falling over therseleves to secure outlets in the world's second biggest market. But before long the prospect of persisting low oil and gas prices may threaten teh commercial viability both of some established sources of supply and of at least some of the would-be new suppliers. Dare one ask, writes Fred Thackeray, is it not time for the world's principal gas suppliers to get together, organise quotas and push up prices?
