摘要

The continued volatility and changes in the global marketplace continue to put at risk the competitiveness of fine chemical manufacturers in Europe. Fine chemicals are a key component of the European chemical industry delivering key building blocks into the supply chain. Over 70% of their Eur 32 billion sales in 2004 are to the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. Since their official launch at CPhI 2004 in Brussels, the European Fine Chemicals Group (EFCG - the voice of the European fine chemical manufacturers - a major group within Cefic) has made considerable progress with its action agenda by: Seeking to minimise the regulatory bias that favours non-European manufacturers, including REACH, and in doing so, to level the playing field; Protecting EU citizen's health through better law enforcement; Promoting the added value provided by high quality European producers; and Promoting innovation.
