Low oil prices are helping to prolong a price-driven market for insuring the temporary phases of offshore oil and gas construction projects. This can include construction in a fabrication yard, wet- or dry-towing to offshore locations, and aspects of installation, hook-up and commissioning. The later phases are riskier as the probability of large losses is higher than during construction onshore.
