Gordon was awarded an El Certificate of Appreciation for his support and commitment to the work of TMS SC-B-10 General Tests, responsible for the testing and analysis of road and aviation fuels. He was appointed as Chairman of this panel in 2008.Over the last two years he has successfully led the Round Robin to obtain precision data for updating of IP 398 Petroleum products - Determination of carbon residue - Micro method (BS EN ISO 10370), which is called up in the European Diesel Fuel Specification (EN 590).
