Identifying the quark as the archetype of a single pointlike energetic quantity in terms of a nuclear flux defined by two parameters, derived from the functional description of the Higgs field, and subsequent modeling hadrons as multibody anharmonic quantum mechanical oscillators, allows a baryon classification similar to Gell-Mann's scheme and beyond,without the need to adopt the heuristic color flavor concept. Baryons are conceived as configurations that consist of three identical quarks, two in particle state and one in antiparticle state. These quarks are characterized by two parameters, a parameter Φ_0 (in MeV) that expresses their energetic strength, and a parameter λ (in m~(-1)) that expresses their spatial range. The ratio Φ_o/λ is invariant, but the distribution of the two parameters over this ratio is subject to scaling as a consequence of energetic excitation, thereby creating a hierarchy of scaled quarks with fundamentally interrelated attributes. ◎
