It has been a great honour for me to have worked for the Canadian physics community as President of the CAP for the twelve months spanning the outstandingly successful Congresses in St. John's in 2011 and Calgary in 2012. This community is well served by an Association that represents its interests in various ways and its successes rely critically on the engaged members who contribute their effort, time, and ideas to the organization. I will highlight here some of the work conducted by the CAP on behalf of its members in 2011-12, new initiatives that were launched, and some operational improvements that were introduced over that period.
