Extracts of the leaves of Aegle marmelos Correa (Rutaceae), Clerodendron inerme (L.) Gaerntn. (Verbanaceae), Nicotiana plumbaginifolia Viviani (Solanaceae) and Phlogocanthus tubiflorus (Roxb.) Nees (Acanthaceae) acted as acaricidal and fecundity reducer to the red spider mite (RSM), Oligonychus coffeae Nietner (Acarina: Tetranychidae) in the laboratory. The mycoinsecticide, Verticillium lecanii (Zimm.) Viegas was found to be pathogenic to the RSM in the laboratory causing 60-70% mortality to the tested population. Endosulfan 35EC was found to be the best in reducing RSM population (100%) followed by Azadirachtin (82.7%) and V. lecanii + Azadirachtin (76.0%) at 72 h after treatment.
