Austria could be forced to lift its ban on two genetically modified(GM)crops during a meeting of EU farm ministers this month,according to EU officials.A draft decision by the European Commission ordering Austria to lift its national safeguard clauses is likely to be discussed by senior EU diplomats this week and,depending on their responses,may pass to be voted through by farm ministers on Sept.18.
