The President's Council of Advisers on Science and Technology held a meeting on nanotechnology last week,seeking input from various experts on how to deal with the environmental,health and safety challenges posed by the burgeoning technology."This morning we heard a lot about the potential for nanotechnology,but it seems that if we can't get the toxicology issue resolved in some fashion,we stand to either make incorrect decisions or miss something that is potentially very beneficial to society," PCAST Executive Director Celia Merzbacher said,before asking the invited panel of experts for their advice on how to deal with the issue.
