On Sept.24(73 FR 55072),EPA issued a notice announcing that a proposed information collection entitled"Pesticide Data Call-In Program"has been submitted to the Office of Management and Budget for review and approval.Under federal regulations,every pesticide product must be registered with EPA.An applicant for registration must provide the agency with data that the pesticide product will not cause"unreasonable adverse effects"on humans or to the environment.Although data is provided with an initial application,EPA may issue Data Call-Ins when the agency has determined that more information is necessary to make a registration decisions under federal regulations.
