The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has had to reject around 11% of bulk submission dossiers - around 193 individual files, according to the latest figures available. A bulk submission dossier is used by companies who need to pre-register one or more chemicals. According to an official statement from ECHA, the reasons for rejecting the dossiers are due to irregularities in the format used or incomplete information provided. However, a spokesperson for the Helsinki-based agency said last week that there are more factors that contribute to the rejections:·The file format or structure is not correct,·the file contains more than 500 substances,·a substance is included without an EC number, or·a substance is included with an invalid ECnumber.
