The European Commission has agreed to withdraw a handful of first generation transgenic crop varieties from sale on theEuropean market because they are no longer commercially available.National veterinary experts backed a commission proposal to remove the five corn and canola varieties during a meeting of the Standing Committee for the Food Chain and Animal Health last month in Brussels.
