William Wilson,an agricultural economist at North Dakota State University,told a National Academy of Sciences committee Feb.26 there is"pent-up pressure"around the world to adopt biotech crops.Addressing a meeting of the NAS Committee on the Impact of Biotechnology on Farm Economics and Sustainability,Wilson noted that six years ago countries were developing biosafety regulations to keep out biotech crops.Now,they're developing regulations to introduce biotech crops.
