A study released last week by three environmental advocacy groups found 13 chemicals in the bodies of nine pregnant women.The chemicals detected can be found in a wide variety of consumer products. The study measured levels of five chemical groups, including phthalates, mercury, perfluorinated compounds, bisphenol A and the flame retardant tetrabromobisphenol A in the blood and urine of the women during their second trimester of pregnancy.
