EPA lacks a coordinated process for ensuring that new chemicals entering commerce do not pose an unreasonable risk to human health and the environment, according to a new report from the agency's Office of Inspector General (OIG). The report finds EPA is unable to provide assurance that "all risks from new chemicals are regulated and that restrictions are followed by industry."
