Minnesota officials have completed a multi-agency special registration review of atrazine, concluding that current atrazine regulations protect human health and the environment. But the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA), Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) also acknowledge uncertainty surrounding the assessment of atrazine and stand ready to revisit the registration pending the outcome of EPA's latest review of the herbicide. The agencies have identified ways to further minimize impacts from atrazine as EPA continues to examine how to best incorporate human epidemiology data in its risk assessment and evaluates the herbicide's potential endocrine disrupting effects.
