DuPont has agreed to share some information from company studies on the safety of Teflon-coated cookware with plaintiffs suing the company for allegedly failing to inform the public of possible health risks from the widely used kitchen products.The plaintiffs allege that DuPont misled consumers about the safety of its products and concealed information about the dangers of perflourooctanoic acid(PFOA),which is a key ingredient in the manufacture of Teflon.They claim that DuPont hid scientific data that Teflon-coated pans can release toxic particulates,including PFOA,when heated to temperatures reached during normal use.
