The Division for Application Techniques in the Federal Biological Research Center for Agriculture and Forestry (the socalled BBA) where I work is responsible for testing and approval of plant protection equipment. The main tasks of this Application Techniques Division are: the testing of plant protection equipment; the elaboration and adaptation of technical requirements to present state of art and the observation of technical application questions in the procedure of authorization for Plant Protection Products. To manage this manifold task the Division for Application Techniques employs 25 persons, 5 of them working in our branch office in Kleinmachnow (near Berlin).
