EPA intends to issue a cancellation order for spirotetramat and is seeking public comment on provisions to address stocks of the insecticide already in commerce. The move stems from a district court decision last December, based on procedural grounds, vacating all registrations of pesticide products with the active ingredient - EPA failed to provide an opportunity for public comment on spirotetramat registration applications before granting them (see PTCN Jan. 4, Page 1).
